About Hivve

We exist to make real impact visible.

So much meaningful work is happening in the world. Most of it goes unseen. Hivve exists to change that.

We believe that when impact is clearly evidenced and measurable, it does more than tell a story: it attracts support, unlocks investment, and enables important work to go further.

Our Story

A note from Hivve's Founder and CEO

Early in my career, I kept seeing the same problem. Organisations were producing lengthy CSR and sustainability reports, yet despite the time and resources invested, they often contained surprisingly little evidence of the real difference being made.

When it came time to report to funders, boards, or investors, teams were left pulling everything together under pressure. And when budgets tightened, impact work was often the first to be cut, valuable but unproven.

The impact was real. The problem was that nobody could see it. That’s why Hivve was built.

We started in advisory, helping organisations develop the frameworks and methodologies needed to evidence their work properly. But we quickly saw a deeper challenge: impact often takes years, sometimes decades, to emerge, while people leave organisations and institutional knowledge leaves with them. The evidence behind meaningful work was being lost before it could be used.

So in 2014, we built the technology to address this challenge, creating systems that help organisations capture, structure, and retain impact data over time, so they can report with confidence and withstand scrutiny.

Today, we are a leading global technology and advisory company helping organisations understand, measure, and communicate their impact, through both our software platform and our expert advisory services.

We began in higher education, but the challenge we kept encountering, meaningful work going unrecognised, turned out to be a widespread issue. Today, we partner with philanthropic organisations, impact funds, purpose-led businesses, and research institutions, all facing the same gap between the impact they’re creating and the evidence they can show for it.

We saw what becomes possible when that gap closes. Developing the methodology behind the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, now used by more than 2,500 institutions worldwide, showed us what rigorous, credible impact evidence can unlock at scale. And that’s the standard we bring to every organisation we work with.

But this was never just about better impact reporting. The world needs more positive impact, and for that to happen, impact has to be credible enough that others can believe it and build on it. In an era of misinformation, where it’s harder than ever to know what to trust, rigorous evidence is what separates meaningful work from noise. Because when impact is clearly evidenced and measurable, it does more than tell a story: it attracts support, unlocks investment, and enables important work to go further.

That’s what drives us every day.
